21/7/10 Stockland Lovell last weekend. Good (and very bizarre) weekend. Nero did his first intro and although green, very promising for the future. Freyas Endeavour and Uranko both came 8th in their BE100 sections. Rolly went very well for his first decent sized novice. Det had a pole SJ and didn't get placed so won't be joini...ng Colby at the Gatcombe Finals, shame but thats how it goes. Biggest surprise in many ways was a catch ride I had on Jessy Morton's Foxdons SunnyJim. He's usually Daniel Sibleys ride but he had an unfortunate fall that morning and was pretty hurt so I took the ride a short while before his dressage test. To cut long story short, he won on his dressage score of 10.5!!!! Was amazed to say the least, have never had (or seen) a dressage mark like it so will definitely be framing that test sheet! Hopefully Dan is on the mend and will be good to go again soon.
Next outing is Aston this wkend where Colby is doing his first Advanced

5/7/10 Glanusk International this weekend. Absolutely fantastic new event, amazing location and really superbly done. Courses were all well up to height and testing, particularly at the higher levels but rode brilliantly for me. Had Hugo (BE100) and Reef (BE90) there on Saturday... Reef did one of the best tests of the day, j...umped clear then had a little wobble XC and was given a stop. Would've won it by a long way so bit disappointing but thats the way it goes! Hugo did a far better test, got a bit over excited for 12 faults SJ and made the XC feel very easy - ready to move up a level XC but the other phases need to catch up first. Colby and Detonator on Sunday, both doing the Intermediate which was a big test for both of them, was a pretty beefy and technical track but delighted to say they both did amazingly, Colby finishing 6th and Detonator 5th. The course caused some major problems even for the experienced Advanced horses... so I'm delighted with the boys and v excited about their future :)

21/6/10 Longleat this weekend. Pretty good day on Friday...Rolly came 5th in a BE100 which is really pleasing, he's now doing his first novice at Stonar next week. Hugo did a nice test, unfortunately had 3 poles SJ - was the biggest he's done and just showed his inexperience in the very slopey arena, felt great (and ve...ry keen as always) XC. Had a bit of a disappointing time with Colby who was doing the CIC 2*, had a run out at a corner combination on the XC - it's his first ever XC fault but these things happen :S Detonator was really fab and came 6th in his first Intermediate so well chuffed with that! Off to Stonar next Tues/Weds.
Now we have the technology to upload videos so will be adding them from now on too!

5/6/10 Good weekend at Moreton. Rolly did a lovely test (29), had an unfortunate pole SJ and finished 5th. Reef went really well to finish 2nd again, finished on his dressage score of 28.5 so really pleased with him. Hugo moved up to pre-novice this weekend and did his best test to date, also jumped a clear SJ! Unfortunately he was very strong XC and went a bit green in a skinny combination and had 2 run outs. Bit disappointing but he's learned from it and so chuffed with his dressage and SJ anyway.
